The cellular infrastructure world is buzzing as LTE (Long Term
Evolution) gains momentum to bring wireless customers one step closer
to a viable 4G mobile network. According to new research from
International Data Corporation (IDC), more than a dozen new networks
are poised to go live this year, and spending on LTE will exceed WiMAX
equipment spending by the end of 2011. Worldwide LTE infrastructure
revenues will fall just below $8 billion by 2014.
The Nordic enterprise mobility market will continue to be impacted
by the economic downturn, with a number of trends working against the
industry, according to a new series of studies from IDC.

Due to the financial crisis, IDC expects a slowdown in hardware
investments and project delays in Western Europe, which will also
impact sales of WLAN equipment. This IDC study examines how vendors are
positioning themselves to compete in the enterprise network equipment
and unified communications market.

reached maturity, with corresponding pressure on growth rates. In this
Web conference, IDC analysts discuss the status of and outlook for
mobile broadband and Internet access via smart phones.
