09:05 Finding Your Way in the Ever-Changing World of BI
Tomasz Sloniewski, Program Manager, Software, IDC Poland

Any understanding of Business Intelligence as a solution must begin by understanding it as a constantly changing realm. BI in any enterprise or organization is a process that will evolve over time, refocus its efforts, and incorporate new methods and technologies as needed. Although market consolidation and acquisitions have reduced the number of BI providers, the incorporation of new technologies and processes continues to vex those in search of their own "BI Roadmap". This presentation brings to light some of the factors that IDC expects to impact BI development in the coming years.
09:30 BI systems are Business Critical
Hrvoje Šunjić, Managing Director, crmT d.o.o.

We came to the point when BI systems are becoming business critical. Business users needs are more demanding – BI is used in more diversified ways, analysis are changing from predefined reports to deep, uncontrolled ad-hoc queries with unpredictable results, data growth is enormous, the number of users is increasing, analysis changed from measuring results to measuring processes. Even more, automated operational processes are depending directly on data from BI systems. Systems have to be robust, flexible, with broad functionality, highly available, highly scalable, support all kind of usage, in some cases in real or near-real time and have to be integrated into the existing systems.

Mission Impossible?

In the presentation we will walk you through the definition of these key components, present the scores and results for each of these areas prepared from our annual BI survey, and comment the global trends and critical areas, priorities and trends for BI systems in the region.

09:55 Netezza Data Warehouse Appliance: The Heartbeat of Mission Critical BI
Joe Napoli, Director, International Distribution, Netezza Corporation Ltd.

The professional community, independent analysts and, at last, the “big four” have recognized that Data Warehouse appliances are the best answer to address increasing performance challenges driven by increasing data volumes and increasing complexity of BI analytics. Natezza, as the pioneer and leader in the DW Appliance field, has set new standards of performance and simplicity that have not been met by any other vendor. The gap between Netezza and others is widening as is demonstrated by an increasingly growing customer base. The presentation will discuss Netezza’s NPS architecture, benefits and regional success stories.

10:05 Maximize Business Performance with a holistic view
Dejan Stelkić, Customer & Partner Relationship Manager, Poslovna Inteligencija

Today’s information economy is enabled through data. Data is the lifeblood of any organization, it is the currency of the modern economy and over the last 10 years we have seen an explosion of data across the organization. The traditional organization has large quantities of data held within operational databases including half of the data held within unstructured and semi-structured data sources, but less than a quarter of the information used to make business decisions comes from these unstructured data sources. As a result, companies are unable to accurately make decisions and measure corporate performance. This presentation first examines the problem of obtaining data from all internal and external sources and aims to help organizations gain greater business value from their information assets.

11:55 Why Business Inteligence is Impossible without Quality Information
Larry P. English, The Guru of Information Quality

Business Intelligence (BI) is not possible without quality information. In the absence of Information Quality (IQ), business decisions will be sub-optimal, if not outright wrong. In this presentation, IDC considers why IQ is not optional for your enterprise, while outlining what is required to provide quality information for quality business intelligence for business performance excellence.
