IDC IT Security Roadshow 2007
Securing Your Business: Technology Meets People

Conference

Date:
March 27, 2007
Location: Budapest, Hungary
Venue: Sofitel Budapest Hotel

Too many organizations still view IT security as set of problems with clear fixes. In fact, IT security is an ongoing process of vigilance covering all aspects of IT: from hardware and system design to software implementation and network use. While system administrators are generally aware of this in principle, few have put it into practice – too much time is spent treating symptoms rather than addressing causes.

Our fifth annual IT security roadshow hopes to help change this. It takes the new approach to security, treating it as a process that includes proactive attention to detail and the human factor in policy implementation. It also takes a preventative approach, featuring IT security gurus that help you recognize threats before they shut down your operations:

Lance Spitzner
The inventor of the concept of honeynets will cover one of the fastest growing and most succesful attacks known, phishing. Its history, recent advancements and most likely future developments.

Sebastian Schreiber
The ethical hacker will demonstrate live the vulnerability of unprotected WiFi networks on a carriage ride through city centers. (Legal restrictions prevent Schreiber from breaking into encrypted WLANs, though he will explain how it is done.)

IDC sets the stage at each event. Our analysts will provide guidance on understanding security as a process and on remembering that the primary aim of any organization is providing a safe framework for business operations and access to key systems.

Industry experts will also deliver information essential to sound IT security solutions, tackling topics such as:
  • Securing Workstations, Offices, and Buildings
  • Protecting Networks from Internal and External Threats
  • Embracing Data and Network Protection Regulations
  • Preventative Security and Intrusion Detection
  • Hackers Techniques and How to Spot Them
  • Application and Web Application Security
  • Mobility and Wireless Network Security
  • Encryption Tools and Challenges
  • Identity Theft and Management

Gain CPE points at the conference!

For Attendees with CISA/CISM qualification, ISACA-HuC gives CPE points at the end of the conference.
